Happy birthday SELF!

Wow, SELF blew out two candles this month! A-MA-ZING! Time just flew by but you know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun… June is our official birthday month. That’s why we’ll be reminiscing on the past two years this month, because so much has happened in such a short time. From great moments to some not so great moments, but that’s all part of starting a business. Ready? Here we go!

Golden SELF-moments

In two years I’ve experienced so many beautiful moments with SELF and I’ve been given some amazing opportunities. Things I am so proud of and will never forget. This blog would be way to long if I had to list all of those moments, but I’m more than happy to share some of the absolute highlights of SELF!

SELF in ‘Leeuwenkuil’

At the start of this year I had the honor to introduce SELF to 5 entrepreneurs on the program ‘Leeuwenkuil’. This was all very exciting and a great experience, and I’ve got some priceless feedback! I would also like to thank all of our dearest SELF-fans. During and after the program the loving messages and orders just kept coming in. I appreciate your support!

SELF goes international

We did it! SELF went international. Our products are also available at Vnitroblock in the Czech Republic, at Freepeople in the United States, Ethea in the UK and Cream Beauticians in the Netherlands. It feels so great to share some SELF-love across the borders!

Fantastic awards and articles

Besides all the lovely reviews from our satisfied customers we’ve been honored to receive some great awards. In 2017 our Fine Delicate Body Butter was chosen as the Editor’s Choice of the Beauty Shortlist Mama & Baby Awards. And this year our All Night Starlight night cream received the Editor’s Choice of the Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018. How fun! And it doesn’t stop there, SELF also appeared regularly in magazines and newspapers, sometimes even internationally! We’ve appeared in several Belgian magazines and even in Cosmopolitan UK. Something I am extremely proud of, it never ceases to amaze me seeing SELF in the media.

The ways of life

The past two years were simply amazing! But let’s be honest, there were some downtimes. I wanted to follow my dream, but as a startup life is very adventurous and that means having ups & downs. For example, there were several shipments that got disappeared and several shipments of samples that somehow got lost in the mail. And after the huge success on ‘Leeuwenkuil’ our website couldn’t cope with the traffic… All unforeseen situations that we’ve only learned from!

To finish I would just like to take a moment to thank all of you. Of course this wouldn’t be possible without you, so my dearest SELF-fans and partners: thank you very much! It’s so nice to receive all those positive mails and reviews. Every day I wake up excited to get to work. Thank you for following my SELF-adventure!
