Our raw materials & ingredients
SELF contains the best ingredients that Mother Nature has to offer. Our products are 100% natural and vegan, free from silicones, processed ingredients, artificial fragrances and colours, parabens, and other nasties. Moreover, we use oils with a proven positive effect on the skin, such as mandarin and geranium, and all in a very low dose to minimise the risk of any allergy.
Antwoord: Our products have been developed for modern skin, with the aim of providing intense hydration, restoring the skin barrier, and improving skin elasticity. Our formulas are dermatologically tested. Perfectly safe for the most sensitive, fragile, and problematic skin. Even for the youngest among us!
All our extracted ingredients are fair trade: with respect for the living standards of farmers and workers and no child labour.
SELF’s entire range is halal certified. Both animal products and alcohol are strictly avoided during our production process. No alcohol is used in the ingredients and all equipment is cleaned with alcohol-free plant-based cleaning agents.

- Our products are free from microplastics.
- SELF has an internationally recognised Vegan label. This means that our products are not tested on animals and do not contain any animal-derived ingredients.
- SELF’s product range is Halal certified.
- Our entire production process takes place in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Our packaging
Production and recycling of packaging always has a CO2 footprint, but we want to keep it as low as possible! That’s why we use more sustainable packaging.
Our current plastic packaging is of European origin. They include polyethylene (PE) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). PET and PE are both approved for cosmetics and food, and contain no traces of phthalates or softeners, oestrogen-like materials, or bisphenol A, also known as BPA. You can trust that no harmful substances end up in our products!
Our lids and caps are also produced in Europe and consist of compressed waste wood.
Striving for sustainability as a common thread!
During transport, we ensure that the products are protected with a layer of green chips. The flakes are shock absorbing and ensure that all shipments arrive safe and sound.
Contrary to popular belief, this filling material is 100% soluble and biodegradable. You can let them melt away in water or add them to the compost heap.

Recyclability
Thanks to the recycling of our packaging, less energy is needed than to produce new plastic. Additionally, fewer raw materials are needed, such as oil. Moreover, the plastic bottles no longer end up in the residual waste. It’s a win-win: we pay less, and we pollute less!
We are constantly looking for the most sustainable packaging options.
Last year, for example, SELF re-branded its packaging to make it even more ecological. We only work with suppliers who make ecology their top priority, just like us.

SELF has a heart for projects that empower vulnerable target groups. Every year, we donate money to organisations that care for the environment, children, or vulnerable groups.
