COUPEROSE AND ROSACEA

The difference between rosacea and rosacea. Two concerns, one advice.

Couperose
Rosacea

COUPEROSE

Couperosis is the presence of dilated red and/or blue blood vessels in the face. This condition is often confused with psoriasis, but unlike psoriasis, people with rosacea do not suffer from bumps and pimples. To reduce rosacea, it is important that you avoid stimuli that can dilate the blood vessels. Therefore, protect yourself against sunlight, reduce your alcohol consumption and only use mild products that do not damage your skin barrier. Also avoid scrubs, as they are not good for your skin.

ROSACEA

Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition that is mainly recognized by redness on the face. The most striking feature is the bright red color of the cheeks and nose, and you may also suffer from small dilated blood vessels (couperosis), bumps and pimples. This skin problem mainly occurs in middle-aged women (+ 30 years), and to a lesser extent in men. The exact cause is unknown, but the complaints can be worsened by excessive sun exposure, consuming alcohol and using non-natural care products that contain chemicals or cortisone. Self visibly reduces symptoms and redness.

OUR ADVICE

Use mild cleaners

Choose gentle, non-irritating cleansers specifically designed for sensitive skin. These products help remove dirt and makeup without irritating your skin. Avoid foaming cleansers that dry out your skin.

Hydrate regularly

Use moisturizers with soothing ingredients such as aloe vera or chamomile. These ingredients help to calm the skin and reduce redness.

Protect your skin from the sun

Protect your skin, both during winter and summer, with an SPF factor.

Keep your skincare routine simple

Limit the number of products you use to minimize the chance of irritation. A simple routine of cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection is often sufficient. Avoid too many active ingredients that can overwhelm the skin.

Avoid irritating ingredients

Avoid products with SE alcohol, perfume, menthol, eucalyptus, and other harsh ingredients. These can damage the skin barrier and increase redness. Read labels carefully to avoid irritants.

No harsh exfoliants

Avoid using harsh scrubs and strong exfoliants that can damage the skin.

Do not rub or scrub

Pat your skin dry instead of rubbing to prevent further irritation. Use a soft towel and be gentle when drying.

Avoid heat

Water that is too hot can irritate your skin and make redness worse. Use lukewarm water to wash your face and body. Hot showers can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and
irritation.

Apply a generous layer to a clean face and let the mask work for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse the skin afterwards and gently pat dry.

Thanks to these products, my rosacea is finally under control! After years, even medication no longer helped. During a severe flare-up, I started using these products on Ellen's advice. It's now almost 3 months later and I haven't had a flare-up anymore. My skin is now calm and looks quite normal. Thank you!

Wonderfully soft cream. Smells nice and fresh. Immediately penetrates deep into the skin. My roseca is noticeably less sensitive and visible on some days.
