HELP! I have impure skin

I get emails about it quite often: adults with blemished skin. Don't worry, you're certainly not alone if you suffer from it too! And if it's any relief: everyone can get a pimple now and then. But if you're really struggling with troubled, blemished skin, I have some tips for you! An article about real acne in adults will be published in the fall.

WHERE DO THOSE IMPURITIES COME FROM?

Many external factors can trigger blemishes. Think of an unhealthy, unbalanced diet, excessive sugar, fast food, etc., but also stress, pollution, hormonal predisposition, and so on. Blemishes can have many causes, and sometimes the fault lies with the individual, namely: not cleansing the skin enough—or not at all!

WHY CLEANSING THE SKIN?

Whether you wear makeup or not, you absolutely must cleanse your skin in the evening. I'll admit it: I didn't use to do it faithfully every night either. Now I do, because I notice the difference myself. With or without makeup, your skin gets blemished throughout the day. Washing off the day's makeup is truly wonderful for your skin. If you do it right, that is!

HOW BEST TO CLEAN?

My best advice ever: gentle cleansing! I see far too many people with blemished skin reaching for harsh cleansers, often containing alcohol, which dry out their skin. You know how it is: drying out pimples. Wrong! Because you already have blemished skin, your skin is already irritated, and using overly harsh cleansers will only make it worse and damage your skin barrier. A gentle cleanser that does deep cleanse—so no wipes, ladies—will thoroughly cleanse your skin without stripping it.

My recommendation? The Self Cleanser, of course! It's a mild cleanser that you can even use as a double cleanser. Step 1: Remove your makeup – you can do that with the SELF Cleanser too! Once all your makeup is gone, you can cleanse your skin again for an extra deep cleanse. Three times a week, you can exfoliate your skin as a second step with our SELF scrub ! Exfoliating gently and gently to avoid over-exfoliating is also a must if you suffer from blemishes. And of course, moisturize your skin again with your day cream afterward!

You'll see: a balanced diet with good habits and enough healthy food + exercise + less stress + good gentle cleansing = glowy skin!
