Greet Punie is a self-made woman! She has been involved in the PR world for years and has an address book and connections to match. After working for a few years at a PR firm, Greet felt the itch to start her own office. And voilà, Greet built Appletree PR with fantastic brands in her portfolio and that includes # SELF ! #GIRLBOSS + mom and an agenda that makes you think: how does she do it? All the more reason to submit our 5 questions Q&A to Greet!
1.Everyone is busy these days. But at Self we attach a lot of attention to me-time! Do you plan enough time for yourself and how do you arrange the puzzle of work, family and me-time?
Unfortunately, I still haven't found a good balance between private and work. My brain keeps going into overdrive at night and while I sleep, the to do's and ideas pile up. I have to consciously plan my time in my agenda. And that particular day is the only thing that works. And then try not to check every 3 minutes for urgent emails. Of course, the children always come first. So first the work and the kids and if there's anything left, it's for me. Well, that's often the way it goes with working mothers, I think, we always come last.
2. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn in life. What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don't stress too much about small things, stop worrying, don't chase perfectionism and carpe diem!
3. What is your ultimate favorite address in Belgium!
I don't have one specific place. For shopping: beautiful interior design stores or the shoe paradise Van Loock in Zandhoven, this makes me instantly happy. Or in a horse stable without a mobile phone, lay your head in the warm neck of a horse and inhale deeply, that smell is unparalleled.
4. How are you doing with your ambition? On fleek? Which goals are at the top of your priority list in 2018?
Private: definitely more me-time and more distance from the idea that everything always “has to”. That is my intention for 2018. Sit down on the couch before everything is perfectly tidy. Professional: improving myself and finally working on that website, so annoying!
5. Oh, you meet a genie-in-a-bottle and you get three wishes. They always say that you shouldn't reveal your wishes, but let's make an exception for once. What are your three wishes?
Health of course. For my children, my loved ones and for myself. A child who is seriously ill is the end of the world. Furthermore, visiting all the places in the world that are on my bucket list. And what would also be great is a magic wand to get our entire house finished right away without budget constraints.
