Tackle those summer breakouts

The weather gods have been remarkably friendly in recent weeks. A gift from Mother Nature, which was especially welcome in Corona times! However, the warmer weather also has a less pleasant effect. Do you suffer from dry skin or pimples these days? You are not alone. A lot of women (and also men) get through the higher temperatures to deal with annoying skin ailments.

I don’t need to tell you that our skin needs moisture. Good hydration is the key to healthy skin. An important point of attention, especially in this period of the year. After all, the sun has a drying effect on our skin. The drier your skin, the more susceptible it is to irritations and impurities. And that is not everything. As it dries out much needed moisture from your skin, the sebaceous glands shoot into overdrive. They produce more sebum than necessary, causing pimples and impurities to appear.

The drying effect of the sun has another annoying effect. It can harden your skin, making it harder for skin cells to regenerate and sebum and dirt residues to build up in your pores. The consequence? Annoying blackheads can disfigure your skin. The warmer weather also increases your sweat production. When the sweat mixes with dirt and tallow residues, an ideal breeding ground for bacteria is created. And that makes – you guessed it – again prone for more pimples and clogged pores.

A radiant summer skin? Everything starts with taking good care of your skin. These 5 tips will get you started.

Wear natural fabrics

As much as possible, choose clothing made from natural materials such as cotton and linen. Synthetic fabrics do not breathe and therefore retain sweat more easily, which gives bacteria free rein. Especially those who suffer from pimples on the back, stay away from polyester tops!

Scrub regularly

Dirt and tallow residues like to settle in your pores. By exfoliating regularly, you prevent these substances from getting stuck under a layer of dead skin cells and causing blackheads and pimples. Our Boost of Facial Scrub with rice grains and natural essential oils gently removes dead skin cells and impurities while also nourishing and restoring the skin. Enjoy this soothing and effective facial scrub 1 to 2 times a week.

Use mild detergent

Do you suffer from skin ailments? Then use a natural detergent. Now that we wear our clothes more often on bare skin and sweat faster, chemicals can act on your skin faster and more intensively. Also, prefer not to use strongly scented fabric softeners. And last but not least: in the summer months it is best to throw your clothes in the laundry basket a little faster than during the winter. This also applies to your bra and bedding!

Nourish your skin

Acne starts with dry skin, so give your skin a healthy portion of concentrates during the summer months. Stay away from aggressive products that put even more pressure on your fragile skin, but rely on the power of Mother Nature. Our products contain only the most nourishing and restorative ingredients and are 100% natural and vegan.

Shower after sweating

Are you completely sweaty after exercise? Or do the beads of sweat drip from your body after half an hour of sunbathing? Jump in the shower. This way you immediately get rid of sweat residues before they can mix with bacteria and dirt residues. Best to use a soft shower gel, without artificial extras. Artificial additives do more harm than good to your sensitive skin.

Our gentle hand & bodywash cleanses the skin thoroughly without drying it out. Definitely a must-have in the summer months.

Though summer hasn’t officially started yet, I already wish you a beautiful summer!

Love,
